FOREWORD
I have pleasure in commending this short history of Polmont North. Parish Church.
There has been a feeling for some time that, as there is much of interest in this district, such a book should be written. Although our congregation's origins are earlier than 1844, the 125th anniversary of worshipping in our present building offered an opportunity for this to be undertaken as a suitable way of noting the occasion.
Considerable work has been done to bring this into effect and I wish to acknowledge this. Mr Denis R Dishington has done much research of old records. Mr Colin Mailer has been involved in much work in preparing the copy for publication. The Anniversary Committee (Messrs J G T Brown, W J Allison, J Ramsay, J Gow, C Mailer, and D R Dishington) has been helpful in the preparation. They are due our thanks, as is also Mr George Morton, Grangemouth, for the recent photographs of the Church. Hugh Talman, Minister at Polmont.
